HOTEL FACILITIES
1. I read there is a Lido which we can use? Is it far from the hotel?
Our guests enjoy a free entrance to a nearby Lido. The Lido season is from June to September and entrance at the lido is free for our residents. Before going to the lido make sure you pick-up an entrance voucher from reception.
2. Does the hotel have a conference room which we can use?
Yes we do have a conference room on the ninth floor. An arrangement for the use of audio-visual material is also possible. The hotel can provide its own projector and TV/Video/DVD facilities.
3. Do you have a luggage room?
Yes, we have a luggage room. You can store your bags here free of charge from the time you have checked out until you leave Sliema.
4. Do you offer babysitter services?
The Marina Hotel can arrange for a babysitting session for you. Please book this service at reception in advance.

7. What room types do you offer?
We have four types of rooms. Superior Seaviews, Seaviews, Standard Twin Rooms or Single Economy Rooms. All rooms can be booked as single rooms with the additional payment of a Sole Use supplement.
8. Do you offer discounts to repeat guests?
Yes we have a Loyalty Scheme for Repeat Guests. Please contact the hotel on email

9. Do you have special prices for group bookings?
Group Bookings are most welcome and are offered a very good package discount. Please email our reservations manager on
reservations@themarinahotelsliema.com for a quote and do book early to avoid disappointment.
10. What is your policy on deposit?
A credit card is required at time of booking to secure your deposit. A 25% of the total charge for your stay will be taken as deposit. The remaining balance is payable on checking-in.
11. Do you have a cancellation policy?
There will be no cancellation charges if booking is cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival. Cancellation charge for bookings cancelled after 48 hours prior to arrival will be charged for 3 nights stay.
12. Is there a no-show fee?
A fee of 3 days accommodation is applicable if clients do not turn up on arrival date.
13. How early do I have to confirm my booking?
Do confirm your booking as soon as possible, especially if you are coming in the busy months of July, August, September, Easter time, or Christmas time.
14. Is it safe to use my credit card online through your website?
Yes we have a security system called SSL Server that ensures the privacy and security of online transactions and credit card payments.
15. Do children have a special price?
If children (less than 12 years old) are accompanied by 2 adults in one room then child’s rate is only 50% of the Adult Rate.
16. I made a hotel reservation online. Do I have to print any information as a confirmation voucher?
Usually this is not necessary but if you can print off your confirming email it is better.
17. Are taxes included in the rate?
Yes all quoted rates are inclusive of VAT.
18. I booked a standard twin room (no balcony) with our agent; can we upgrade to seaview direct with the hotel?
If we have available Sea View rooms then this is of no problem and can be done on checking-in but if you are planning this upgrade it is advisable to book your upgrade through our reservations clerk on email address

ROOMS
19. Do you have interconnecting rooms?
Yes, we have a number or interconnecting rooms. You can have a Superior Seaview room interconnecting with a Side Seaview Room at no extra charge. Book early to avoid disappointment.
20. Do you have double-bedded rooms?
Yes we have both Standard Twin rooms (with single beds) or Standard Double rooms (with a double bed). Specify your request when booking.
21. Which facilities are found in the room? (safe / minibar / iron…)
All rooms are equipped with a safe, minibar, hairdryer, direct dial phone and air-conditioning. You can also hire a kettle or even the iron and ironing board at no extra charge.
22. What is the checkin / checkout time?
Check-in is anytime after 12:00 Noon and check-out is by 11:00am.
23. Do you have internet access in the rooms?
There is no internet access direct in the rooms at the moment.
However the hotel provides to its guests the new “Hot Spot” based on Wi-Fi technology. Guests who have their own Wi-Fi device can connect to our wireless high speed internet on the ninth floor Free Of Charge.
Otherwise you can purchase pre-paid cards with different connection periods from reception and you can use them on one of our lobby computers.
24. I heard you have two types of Sea View rooms; Can you explain the difference please?
We have two types of Sea View rooms. The Sea View Superior ones and the Standard Sea Views. The Superior rooms have a very nice large balcony which is even equipped with sunbeds. In addition to this if you book a superior room you will also benefit from extra toiletries in the bathroom, and free use of the safe and kettle in the room.
The Standard Sea View Rooms are still great rooms overlooking the harbour but come with a smaller balcony and no extras are included. Of course the price of the room also differs!
25. Can I smoke in my room?
We have both smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms. Specify your preference when booking.
26. Is the room rate per person per night, or per room?
The room rate is per person per night.
27. Do you do triple rooms?
The hotel has a number of triple rooms and quad rooms for which we can offer very competitive rates. As a rough idea the third adult sharing in a room usually gets 30% discount on the normal rate. Please email our reservations clerk on

28. Do all the rooms in the hotel overlook the sea?
We have 28 seaview rooms, fourteen of which are Superior. Sea View Rooms can be taken as single rooms, Double Rooms, Triple Rooms or even Quad Rooms.
29. Do all the rooms have air-conditioning?
All of the rooms in the hotel have air-conditioning which is centrally controlled depending on the season.
30. Do you offer television programmes in foreign languages in the rooms? Are they against payment?
All the rooms are equipped with television stations in foreign stations. Such stations include English, Maltese, Italian, French, Spanish and German.
31. Are baby cots available for the rooms?
If you require a baby cot please advise us when making your booking so we can arrange for you to have one in the room.
32. We are a family of four. 2 adults and two kids. Can we stall altogether in one room?
We have two types of quad rooms – Sea View or even Standard (City View). Alternatively you might prefer two interconnecting sea view rooms.
33. Do you have rooms with a bathtub?
We provide a choice of either a bathtub or a shower in the room. Please advise your preference when making the booking.
34. Is there a safe in the room?
There is a safe deposit box in each room. Here you can store your valuables, like Passport, Tickets, money, visas, Travellers cheques, small cameras etc. To make use of this facility you have to leave a deposit of €10 at reception and pay €1.50 / day for the hire.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
35. Can you arrange hotel – airport – hotel transfers for us?
Do not worry about how you will arrive at the hotel from the airport or vice versa. Just give us your flight details and let us and our chauffeur worry about it! We provide a safe and reliable transfer service ensuring that you arrive at the hotel or at the airport in comfort. Our efficient chauffeur monitors your flight arrival time to ensure that there is always someone at the airport to meet you, even if your flight is delayed! Just book this service with our reservations clerk.
36. How much does a taxi from the airport to the hotel cost?
The taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel costs €22 during the day or €25 night time (24:00 – 06:00).
37. I am arriving by car; do you have any parking facilities?
Unfortunately we do not have reserved parking facilities. If you avoid searching for a parking place during the busy hours (09:00 – 15:00) parking close to the hotel should not be a problem.
38. On the day of my departure can I stay longer in the room? Is it against payment?
If the room is available, you can pay for the room and retain it till the time of your departure or otherwise. The payments affected are as follows:
€15 for retaining the room till 15:00
€25 for retaining the room later than 15:00.
39. I am arriving early (or leaving late) can I leave my luggage somewhere? Is it against payment?
We have a luggage room in the hotel lobby and this service is free of charge.
40. Are children allowed at the hotel?
Children at the hotel are most welcome. We even cater for student groups, provided that the students are under strict supervision by adults.
41. Do you offer laundry service?
We do offer laundry service. In the event that you want your clothes cleaned just leave your clothes in a bag at reception quoting clearly all the items that you have inside. Normal service is returned within 48hours, while express service is returned within 24 hours (week days only).
42. Do you have facilities for people with disabilities?
The hotel is fully equipped for people with a disability. The lift is wide enough for a wheeled chair / mini-scooter to enter, the bathrooms are as should be, and we even have guest rooms especially equipped for disabled people. For those who want to visit our 9th floor terrace they can even make use of our stair-lift.
43. Can you arrange for gluten free meals?
If you have any special diet requirements kindly request your preferences on making the reservation and you will get a reply from our Food and Beverage Manager. On certain rare cases some clients have also got their own pasta / bread which we used to prepare their meals.
44. Is there somewhere where I can leave my bike?
While we advise you to always mention this request on making your booking, we assure you that we will find a safe location where you can keep your bike.
45. Is the hotel reception open 24/7?
Yes the hotel reception is open 24 hours all week.
46. Is it possible to check-in earlier?
If the room is available early check-in should not be a problem. If you are sure that you will be arriving really early quote you arrival time and flight number in your reservation so we can do our utmost to give you the room at once.
47. I am afraid of heights. Can I request to be given a room on a low floor?
Yes you can! Request early to avoid disappointment!

48. How far is the nearest Casino?
The nearest Casino is the Dragonara Casino in St. Julians and it is about 3.5km from the hotel.
49. How far is the hotel from the airport?
The hotel is about 10 km away from the airport.
50. Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept all main credit cards, like Visa, EuroCard, MasterCard and American Express.
51. Can we phone outside Malta from the phone in the room? How do we get charged?
The phone in the room can be used to phone other rooms in the hotel, to phone reception or even to phone outside (both locally and overseas). Kindly refer to the below table.

52. Are there any special tourist attractions in the vicinity?
Sliema is probably the largest, most modern, and busiest Maltese town. It is Malta’s principal shopping and tourist centre after Valletta. In Sliema you can find a wealth of hotels, cafes, restaurants, and shops satisfying all your needs.
A walk along the seafront promenade will take you from a harbour, to fishing areas, beaches (mostly stony), beach lidos, diving schools, language schools, all the way to magnificent St. Julians – the centre of nihgtlife in Malta.
You can take a bus from Sliema to any spot on the island any day of the week. Sliema is probably the best location for the tourist who is looking forward for a little bit of everything!
53. Is your restaurant open to non-residents as well?
Our restaurant is open to anyone for Breakfast and Dinner and booking is not a necessity. However it is always a good idea to give us a phone call beforehand on 00356 21 336461 so that we can reserve the best table for you.
Breakfast is served between 07:30 and 09:30
Dinner is served between 18:30 and 21:00
Lunch is served in the coffee shop where you have the possibility to sit outside in the cafeteria or even in the air-conditioned inside area between 12:00 and 14:00.
54. Is breakfast included in the basic rate?
Yes, breakfast is always included in the basic rate.
55. Is your breakfast continental or buffet?
Our breakfast is continental, ranging from platters of various ham and cheese, muesli and cereals, a variety of bread, butter, a variety of jams, juices, coffee / tea / hot chocolate and fresh fruit of the season.
In addition to this we also have the possibility of an English Breakfast on request or even room service breakfast – the latter would be charged on your room bill accordingly.
56. If I am on BB, can I book and have dinner on one of the days?
Of course! You even have the possibility of a variant board basis where you can request BB on some days and HB on the others.
57. Can I have a packed lunch (or lunch) instead of a dinner?
This service can be granted at no extra charge if booked 24 hours before at Reception.
58. How far is the hotel from the nearest beach?
The hotel is only a few metres away from the closest lido / rocky beach, but if you prefer a sandy beach the closest sandy beach is St. Georges bay in St. Julians about 4.5km away and is very easily reachable by bus 62 from Sliema.
For those guests who do not desire going to the beach they can enjoy our Jacuzzi in our Rooftop garden for an atmosphere of total relaxation.

59. Where about are you located?
The marina hotel is located at the Sliema Seafront just opposite the departure location of Hera and Fernandez boat cruises – commonly known as Sliema Ferries. Burger King Sliema and the Roman Catholic church dedicated to Jesus of Nazareth are situated next door to the Marina Hotel.
60. Do you have any entertainment in weekends?
We usually offer live music on weekends. Kindly email us for more information.
61. What are my dining options?
If you want to dine in the hotel we offer our eight floor Rooftop restaurant which has an excellent view overlooking the Sliema ferries, Manoel Island and the picturesque Valletta City or even or our Caffe Bottega - Ground Floor coffee shop for more casual dining.
62. Do you offer room service?
We offer room service anytime between breakfast time and dinner time. Kindly contact reception service for any requests. Room service comes at a charge of €1.16.
63. What electricity voltage do you have?
Electricity in Malta is 230 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Malta with a device that does not accept 230 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter.
64. How are your electricity sockets?
Outlets in Malta generally accept 1 type of plug - Two parallel flat pins with ground pin. If your appliances plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
65. Is the tap water in the room potable?
The tap water in the room is potable – This is a very rare commodity in Malta. However for those who feel safer drinking from branded bottled water we do sell very cheap water packets at reception.
66. Is there a hairdryer in the room?
There is a standard hairdryer in all rooms and this service is provided at no extra cost.
67. Is there air conditioning in the rooms?
A central heating / air conditioning system is provided in all the rooms which is with an automatic regulate system depending on the season.
